Time to Extend Your Home

With EC Harris reporting that 21 billion of residential development is due in London alone, it will not be long before builders are once again at full stretch and the costs of building a house extension are going up.

This £9 billion is only around 9,000 new homes.  They are already being built on site or planned for delivery in central London between now and 2020.

Of that total, 4,000 units (£8 billion) are likely to come to the market in 2014-15.  That is roughly the time it will take from now until then to be able to plan and build them.

The research is based on a snapshot analysis of new private residential development projects currently being built or planned for delivery in central London through to 2020 using an estimate of development programmes, units, saleable areas and sales values.
